Coming Soon: A School Garden!

The school gardening committee is looking for more members and lots of volunteers!  We are in the process of registering our garden with Grow To Learn NYC, the citywide school gardens initiative.  The kick off will start with a recycled tire garden, made out of donated tires from Jimmy's Steinway Collision.  30 tires will be delivered on June 11th - they will need to be washed, dried and painted.  General yard cleanup will be done over the next few weeks by volunteers.  Please contact simonehealer@nyc.rr.com if you are interested in helping! Tires will be planted by kids and their teachers on June 21st.  There will be a tree care workshop on June 20th from 5:30 - 7:30 sponsored by Greenthumb - please join us in front of the school.
